Monitoring and oversight
AI-Assisted Operations Monitoring
PreviewAI-assisted monitoring that turns operational telemetry into an answerable question, not another dashboard.
Powered by Sentinel
Business value
Shortens the time between a signal appearing and an operator understanding what it means, without adding another dashboard to watch.
Operations teams are often surrounded by monitoring dashboards but still have to manually correlate signals to understand what is actually going on, which slows down incident response and lets small issues become bigger ones. Sentinel is an MII-built capability pattern that lets an operator ask what is happening, why, and what changed, and get a synthesised answer drawn from the underlying telemetry rather than a wall of charts. Sentinel is built on Azure Monitor for telemetry and Azure OpenAI Service for reasoning, so it augments an existing observability estate instead of replacing it.
Where it helps
- Investigating an operational incident by asking what changed and when
- Summarising system health across multiple monitored services
What the pattern does
- Natural-language querying over Azure Monitor telemetry
- AI-generated incident summaries drawn from underlying signals
The challenge
Security scanners often produce overlapping, noisy, and hard-to-prioritize findings. Engineering teams need to understand what matters, how to fix it, and how to explain risk to non-technical stakeholders without spending days on manual consolidation.
What was built
MII Sentinel executes Semgrep, Trivy, GitLeaks, and Bandit within a single review cycle, then normalises their output into a common finding model so results from different tools can be compared and deduplicated. An AI triage layer prioritises what remains, explains each finding in plain language, and drafts remediation guidance for developers alongside a concise summary for stakeholders.
What changed
Prioritized security insight from a single platform, including grouped findings, suggested remediation, plain-language severity explanations, and concise reporting that leaders can act on.
Why it matters
Faster remediation cycles, less alert fatigue, clearer ownership for fixes, and stronger communication between engineers, security teams, and decision makers.
